Optomap for Retinal Imaging

Optomap offers advanced ultra-wide retinal imaging—often without the need for dilation! This technology exceeds the capabilities of traditional methods, providing a vastly expanded view of your retina for superior preventative care.

  • A single capture covers at least 50% more of the retina, and with multi-capture, it can image up to 97%!

Why Optomap matters:

  • Early detection is key! Optomap helps your eye doctor spot developing eye diseases like retinal holes, detachment, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy – before they significantly harm your sight.
  • Overall health insights: Optomap also aids in identifying signs of broader health issues, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cancer.
  • No dilation hassle: For most patients, Optomap eliminates the need for dilation drops. This means no blurry vision, no light sensitivity, and you can drive yourself home after the exam!

The Optomap experience:

  • Quick, comfortable, and versatile: Optomap is painless, non-invasive, and works for all ages, including children and pregnant women.
  • The scan itself: You’ll look into a device, and a brief flash means the image is captured – the whole scan takes seconds! Your eye doctor will review the digital results and store them for future reference.

You can visit iDoctor with or without vision insurance. For current eye-exam and contact-lens service fees, send our team a question before your visit. We can also help you explore eyewear options for your budget.

Bring your current glasses or contact lenses, insurance card or plan information, photo ID and a list of your medications. Bring any questions you’d like to discuss, too.
