Vision insurance at iDoctor

We accept all major vision insurance plans, including the plans below. Select your plan for details, or call our team to verify your coverage and understand your benefits before your visit.

Benefits, copays and allowances depend on your individual plan and require verification.

Make sense of your vision benefits.

What your plan may include

Depending on your plan, benefits may cover:

  • Annual comprehensive eye exams
  • Designer frames and prescription lenses
  • Lens enhancements, such as anti-glare, blue light protection and transitions
  • Contact lenses and fittings

Check when your benefits reset.

Most vision benefits reset annually, and unused benefits do not roll over. Our team can help you understand your benefits and make the most of your plan.

Not sure which vision plan you have?

Health insurers often partner with vision providers. Even if your card names a health insurer or your provider is not listed here, you may have benefits through one of our accepted vision plans.

Your vision benefits may appear under one of these company names:

  • AARP
  • Aetna
  • Ameritas
  • BlueCross BlueShield
  • Guardian
  • Lincoln Financial
  • MetLife
  • Mutual of Omaha
  • Principal
  • Unum

Clear starting points

Self-pay exam & testing fees

The eye exam is $99. Contact lens exam fees are added to that amount; retinal imaging and visual field testing are an additional $39.

Self-pay fees
ServiceFee
Eye exam$99
Spherical contact lens exam+ $75
Toric contact lens exam+ $120
Multifocal / monovision contact lens exam+ $150
Rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lens exam+ $150
Retinal imaging + visual field testing+ $39

A plus sign means an additional fee. Contact lens exam fees are in addition to the $99 eye exam. Insurance benefits and your out-of-pocket cost require individual verification.

Let us help check your benefits.

Have your insurance card or plan information ready, along with the reason for your visit. Tell us whether you are planning an exam, glasses or contact lenses.

Have both vision and medical insurance? Mention both when you contact us so our team can help review the benefits relevant to your visit.

Bring your current glasses or contact lenses, insurance card or plan information, photo ID and a list of your medications. Bring any questions you’d like to discuss, too.
